What are Scrunchies?

You might resemble this name to be some kind of eatable object, no? Yeah, munchies and scrunchies!

That rounded and fabric-covered elastic piece is commonly used to fasten hairs of many lengths.

You may find it in enormous designs, colors, and intensity for the use of grown-up women, the little girls with long hair.

And the good thing is, the scrunchies do not always go with fastening the hairs. We will tell you where else they get to go.

  • Fabric tube turner

How to Make Scrunchies with a Sewing Machine Finally!

Making the scrunchies with a sewing machine is extremely convenient, time savior, and hassle-free.

Although you may still do sewing scrunchies in many different ways, we will still recommend going with a sewing machine anyhow.

Be ready to get the detailed jibe on how to make scrunchies with a sewing machine!

Step #1: Folding the Fabric and Doing the Sew

First, fold the fabric in half and evenly make sure there are no wrinkles around after the fold.

After the fold, ensure the gap in between stays at least 1 inch or more than that all the way from one end to another.

Again, measure everything to ensure everything stays even because a bit of over and short sizing can literally make the scrunchie look bad and feel odd.

Step #2: Turn the Tube and Match the Short Raw Ends

Let’s turn the tube halfway toward the right side. This way it would allow the gaps that stay outward during the stitching. Make sure to match the short raw ends without any wrinkles.

Step #3: Stitch the Short Raw Ends Together

Now is the time to secure the short raw ends. Place the tube inside the sewing machine presser feet and sew those raw edges possibly with the matching thread color.

After that, take the scrunchie out from the gap of the stitching through the right side which will resemble the ring by plucking it out.

Step #4: Pierce the Elastic Through

It would start taking the shape of a scrunchie from now on.

Place the safety pin on one of the elastics and get it through the fabric tube. No lose the elastic in the process.

Step #5: Stitch the Gap

Once everything is completed well and good, now stitch the seam gap for the scrunchie to start coming to use.

Well, you forgot a thing, nope? — Overlapping the elastic ends together and leaving them intact will eventually lose their tightness.

How Much Time It Takes to Sew Scrunchie with a Sewing Machine

That may take up to 10 minutes at max given the fact you are versed with operating the sewing machine.

Although the first attempt at creating a scrunchie might take a bit longer and more effort to understand each and every step.

Once you develop the habit of creating scrunchies for a while, then expedite the processing time to be relatively lower than expected.

Conclusion!

Yes, the scrunchies have been in use for a long time without losing their importance for sure.

However, you may hardly find a good scrunchie from the market.

For the same reason, we believe it is time to learn to make the scrunchies yourself.

With the passion for looking trendy and unique out in the gatherings, let’s create some awesomely designed scrunchies the way you want.

Bearing all the simplified processes, you have the exact and easy-to-follow procedure of how to make scrunchies with a sewing machine for your own use.

Now create them for you and everyone in the family and be known for your creativeness! 🙂
